This paper studies empirically the relationship between competition and risk taking in banking markets. We exploit an unique dataset providing information about all bank loans to Norwegian firms over several years. Rather than relying on observed market shares, we use the distance between bank branches and firms to measure the competitiveness of local markets. The cross-sectional and longitudinal variation in competition in local markets are used to identify the relationship between competition and risk taking, which we measure by the non-performing loans and loss provision rates of the individual banks. We find that more competition leads to more risk taking. We also examine the effects of bank competition on the availability of loans. More competition leads to lower interest rates and higher loan volumes, but also makes it more difficult for small and newly established firms to obtain a loan.

If you’re considering pursuing a degree in business, it’s essential to ensure that the schools you’re considering have the proper accreditation. Accreditations ensures that a school meets certain standards of quality in education, faculty, facilities, and student services.

In the world of business education, the most widely recognized accreditation bodies are the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

Attending an accredited business school can provide you with confidence in the quality of education you’ll receive and can enhance your future job prospects.

This article will explore each of these accreditations in detail and shed light on the benefits of attending a triple-accredited school, such as TBS Education.

Summary

What is an accreditation for a business school?

If you’re considering pursuing a degree in business, you’ll want to ensure that the schools you’re considering have the proper accreditation

Accreditation is a formal process of evaluation that ensures a school meets certain standards of quality in education, faculty, facilities, and student services. For business schools, accreditation can come from a variety of organizations, but the most widely recognized are the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

Attending an accredited business school can give you confidence in the quality of education you’ll receive and can enhance your future job prospects.

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is one of the most widely recognized accreditations for business schools around the world.

Founded in 1916, the AACSB’s mission is to advance quality management education worldwide through accreditation, thought leadership, and value-added services. The AACSB accreditation process is rigorous and requires schools to meet strict standards of quality in education, research, and professional engagement.

AACSB-accredited schools are recognized for their commitment to academic excellence, faculty scholarship, and preparing graduates for successful careers in the business world. Attending an AACSB-accredited school can provide you with a competitive advantage in the job market and a higher level of assurance that you’re receiving a quality education.

European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS)

The European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is a leading international accreditation system for business schools. Developed by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), EQUIS is based on a set of rigorous standards that evaluate schools on various factors such as quality of teaching, research output, corporate connections, and internationalization.

EQUIS-accredited schools are recognized for their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in business education. By attending an EQUIS-accredited school, students can be assured of receiving a high-quality education that prepares them for successful careers in the global business world.

EQUIS accreditation is also valued by employers, who recognize the rigorous standards that EQUIS-accredited schools must meet.

Association of Masters of Business Administration (AMBA)

The Association of MBAs (AMBA) is a global accreditation organization that specializes in accrediting MBA, DBA, and Master’s Degree programs in business administration.

Founded in 1967, the AMBA’s mission is to promote excellence in postgraduate business education and to provide a platform for business schools and MBA students to connect and network. To achieve AMBA accreditation, business schools must meet strict standards of academic rigor, teaching quality, and student support.

AMBA-accredited programs are recognized for their ability to produce highly skilled and employable graduates, and for their commitment to developing responsible leaders who can drive positive change in the business world. Attending an AMBA-accredited program can provide students with a competitive edge in the job market and access to a global network of business professionals.

TBS Education, a triple-accredited school

TBS Education is a leading business school that has achieved the highest level of accreditation from the three most prestigious accreditation bodies in the world

  • the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB),
  • the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS),
  • and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

This achievement is a testament to the school’s commitment to excellence in business education and its ability to meet the highest standards of quality and academic rigor. Attending a school with all three accreditations can provide students with a unique advantage in the job market, as it demonstrates that they have received a high-quality education that is recognized globally.

Additionally, TBS Education’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement ensures that its graduates are well-prepared to become successful leaders in the business world.

Title: Covid-19 Vaccine hesitancy: A Social Media Analysis,

Authors: Serge Nyawa, Samuel Fosso-Wamba and Dieudonné Tchuenté

Abstract : Despite the availability of vaccine doses, a huge part of the population is hesitating to be vaccinated against COVID19, most of them are taking a wait-and-see approach (France (60%), Russia (57%) and South Africa (47%), USA (30%), UK (22%), by May 2021). Anti-vaccination activists are spreading negative rumours about available vaccines. The World Health Organization considers vaccine hesitancy as one of the more important global health threats. Most often, vaccine hesitancy comes out after debates or partial information relatively to a specific disease. The reasons why people can hesitate to be vaccinated are of many folds: a lack of confidence, complacency or unnecessity, and difficult accessibility. This study contributes to the growing literature on developing tools to identify people who are hesitating and antivaxxers. We rely on Machine Learning and deep learning models to develop and compare within the same framework models able to recognize messages from an hesitant and an antivaxxer. We obtain that Random Forest outperforms the others methods with 85% of accuracy. Our result can be used to improve government vaccination campaigns against COVID19 on social media.
