Courses completed: Data-Driven Business: Managing Big Data, Machine Learning and Visualization and International Human Resources Management

How would you describe your Summer School experience in a few words?
Exhilarating EmotionalTransformational & Unforgettable

Can you give us a small anecdote concerning your time at TBS Education?
My time at TBS Education has been hands down one of the best experiences of my life! Starting from the city itself, Toulouse is undoubtedly an amazing student city filled with friendly people, a vibrant nightlife that is equally safe making it extremely fun to explore. Moreover, the TBS Education Summer Program itself is so unique because you’re surrounded by solely international students, and you build bonds for a lifetime. Similarly, the professors all come from interesting professional backgrounds and are from all around the world, they were also very approachable which created a great classroom environment abroad. TBS Education also curates a great social program to ensure you’re not only experiencing Toulouse but bonding with all your peers whether it be through company visits, day trips to local sights, kayaking and more! While many people may feel that it’s a too bad I didn’t go on a full term exchange as an accounting student looking to pursue my CPA which would make a full term exchange difficult for me, the TBS Education Summer Program was perfect, giving me a unique experience that I highly recommend! Toulouse has found a special place in my heart and memories I’ll forever remember to go along with it!

How did your integration into the Summer School/Toulouse go?My integration into Summer School/Toulouse was very seamless to the point I didn’t really undergo any intense culture shocks. The orientation and info package were super helpful in allowing me to get to know who I could reach out to for help as well as local eats and sights in Toulouse. Even before that though, my integration was very supported through the message updates in our WhatsApp group chat, the outlook calendar that provided a clear itinerary and Lucia being there to answer any of my initial questions as I pulled up to KLEY on my first day in Toulouse.

What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to the first day?
By the end of the Summer School, I felt at home with Toulouse, TBS Education and the other students from the program! Unlike the first day where everyone felt like acquaintances, on the last day those acquaintances turned into close friends that I’m going to miss immensely, and Toulouse felt like a second home to me.

Was there any social/cultural event that you particularly enjoyed?
Kayaking – painful but fun; felt good to take a step outside the city and enjoy all the stunning and nature-filled views! Moreover, because it was essentially a very unguided activity, it was also an experience that really allowed me to bond with my friends and the other people in the program.

Boat Trip – one of the first social activities that allowed me to not only experience Toulouse from a unique experience, but it was here that I got super close with the people who later became my close friends.

Closing ceremonies – while it was sad because it marked the end of the Toulouse track part of the program, by this time everyone was familiar with each other, so we really were just enjoying each other’s company and it made it fun to do the superlatives!

What advice would you give to a future TBS Education Summer School participant?

  1. Step outside of your comfort zone; it’s not everyday you get to live in France.
  2. Be bold, get out there and introduce yourself to new people because those people will oftentimes become your best friends during your time there.
  3. Explore the city and the cities around it; the train is an easy mode of transportation!
  4. Toulouse is 100% a student city, take advantage of its social life.
  5. Don’t be afraid to reach out to any of the TBS staff, they’re super approachable! 😊

How did your integration into TBS Education/Toulouse go? What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to your first day?
My integration went very well! Even though I was the only Danish person in Toulouse, I never felt left out of the group. Every single person in the summer school program was openminded and interested in meeting new people from different cultures. The groups were in general characterized by curiosity and a high level of engagement.

How did the Summer School Team help you?
The summer school team at both schools have been a great help in all practical areas of the trip. All practicalities were sorted out so participants could focus on school, forming new relationships and having fun. If any questions appeared, the summer school teams were always happy to help.

Were there any social/cultural events that you particularly enjoyed?
I really enjoyed the team building day in Toulouse as it allowed us to get to know our fellow students. Furthermore, I liked the scavenger hunt in Toulouse as well as it was a great opportunity for exploring the city. Last but not least, the international evenings in both Toulouse and Ljubljana was great experiences; all the different countries had so much culture to bring.

Can you give us a small anecdote concerning your time at TBS Education?  It can be informative/funny/whatever you wish.
When choosing a summer school in Europe, my expectation was that the majority of students in the program were Europeans. When I arrived, I found out that it was completely the opposite; the majority of participants were from all other places in the world than Europe. It was an amazing experience to engage in such a diversified program and to get to know students from all over the world.

What advice would you give to a future TBS Education Summer School participant?
Open your mind and GO! This summer school program is one of the greatest experiences I have encountered during my studies so far. Be open to meeting new people and engage in academic as well as social activities – the more you give, the more you get.

Why did you choose the TBS Education Joint Toulouse- Ljubljana Summer School over other schools?
Hence, I chose Joint TBS Education-Ljubljana Summer School for 2 main reasons. Firstly, because both of the universities have a great reputation, particularly TBS for its triple crown accreditation and secondly, for the ideal length and intensity of the programme.

How did your integration into TBS Education/Toulouse and in Ljubljana go? What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to your first day?
On the very first day, I felt very nervous and out of place. Being in a different country was definitely a bit of a culture shock, especially since I knew very little French. After meeting the people in the program and spending more time with the coordinators + students, I felt as if I was right where I needed to be, and I ended up having an amazing experience. By the end of the trip I felt like I had made the best choice of my life!

From the first day, TBS Education gave me a warm welcome and provided a good organisation. The subject I chose were relevant to my studies and the lessons were enjoyable thanks to lovely professors.

From the social activities I particularly liked Carcassonne and sand dunes trip, and also the music festival La Fête de la Musique.

What did you appreciate about the Summer School: the people, the town, the School etc.?
Thanks to the amazing family atmosphere from both international students and TBS Education staff, I had great fun and learnt a lot too.

What advice would you give to a future TBS Education Summer School participant?
Advice for future students: Even if you are non-business student, don’t be afraid and challenge yourself! Everyone with the right dedication can finish the summer school with high marks, world-wide connections and unforgetable memories!

What studies are you doing?
Computer Information Systems in the Robinson School of Business. I attended the TBS Education Single Toulouse Summer School (3 weeks).

Why did you choose the TBS Education Summer School over other schools?
It has always been a dream of mine to go to France, and the TBS Education Summer School allowed me the amazing opportunity to see France as well as visit creative places and relax in a smaller town.

How did your integration into TBS Education/Toulouse (and in Barcelona / Ljubljana if relevant) go? What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to your first day?
On the very first day, I felt very nervous and out of place. Being in a different country was definitely a bit of a culture shock, especially since I knew very little French. After meeting the people in the program and spending more time with the coordinators + students, I felt as if I was right where I needed to be, and I ended up having an amazing experience. By the end of the trip I felt like I had made the best choice of my life!

How did the Summer School Team help you?
The summer school team was always there to answer any questions when I had them, as well as help me out with interacting with my home university to fix financial aid issues. All of my professors were amazingly helpful, and everyone on the team was overall just amazing!

Were there any social/cultural events that you particularly enjoyed?
The Fete de la Musique festival was amazing, and I felt honoured to be in Toulouse at the time. In addition to that, I had the pleasure of visiting a lot of historic landmarks in France with other students as well as see the beautiful landscapes in the South of France!

What did you appreciate about the Summer School: the people, the town, the School etc.?
My favorite part of the program would hands down be the people! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more amazing group. I’ve made friends from all over the world that I wouldn’t have been able to meet otherwise. The TBS Education Summer School program was full of people that can make any setting exciting and hilarious. In the 3 weeks that I was participating in the program, I felt like I had known some of these people my entire life and promised to keep in touch!

Can you give us a small anecdote concerning your time at TBS Education?
On my second day in Toulouse, I ended up asking Google where the nearest grocery store was from my residence building. Of course it told me that the nearest one was 40 minutes away, and so I biked there on a rented bicycle and got into a really awkward encounter with the cashier (who only spoke French) while paying for all of my stuff. After biking back for 40 minutes again, I met a student in the program that told me that the grocery store was directly across from the school (5 minutes from my housing)!

What advice would you give to a future TBS Education Summer School participant?
Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. The time in the program seems so long and so short at the same time, and you won’t want to miss a single minute of it! Participate in everything! You’ll be glad you did when you have amazing memories of all of the fun things you did with all of your new friends!

I did my BBA at a renowned University and am currently a student of MBA Marketing Management (Final year) at Chitkara University.

Why did you choose the TBS Education Summer School over other schools?
TBS Education Summer School seemed to be an amazing opportunity overseas. The reason behind choosing TBS Education was my awareness about the school, its rankings and excellent education system and the most important reason, it’s geographical location i.e. FRANCE. I had a keen desire to visit Europe especially parts of France so it was great to be a part of TBS Education.

How did your integration into TBS Education/Toulouse go? What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to your first day?
Initially I found myself in a very unfamiliar environment but with the help of the staff and as the schedule of classes progressed, things got sorted and I was able to feel a positive transformation in my knowledge base as well as awareness of European trends. At the end of the Summer School, it seemed to have been very short in duration as this was an amazing time of my life and there were people from various countries.

How did the Summer School Team help you?
TBS Education Summer School was a great learning opportunity overseas. The TBS Education team is one of the most amazing and well-co-ordinated teams I have ever seen, they were co-operative and very supportive. A Hearty Thanks to the TBS Education team for such a help and for all the planned activities and tours around.

Were there any social/cultural events that you particularly enjoyed?
Yes, I enjoyed most of the events there, knowing the culture of Toulouse and French people as well. 21st June the celebrations and welcome of summer was one of the great happy gatherings, I loved to see how the people unite and celebrate with joy.

What did you appreciate about the Summer School: the people, the town, the School etc.?
It is hard to make a comparison for me because personally I feel everything went perfectly. But still to make a parameter of difference, I loved the school the most as it was the place that enriched me with new cultures, people and especially knowledge. The town is beautiful to explore.

Can you give us a small anecdote concerning your time at TBS Education?
I spent a great time discussing things and cultures of our places with other students. My time at Toulouse was the most remarkable part of my life and I will miss all the friends forever. A heartful thanks to the staff for being so nice and always helping me with all the problems I faced. Thank you for a great experience in Toulouse.

What advice would you give to a future TBS Education Summer School participant?
I would recommend the participants to definitely grab the golden opportunity to be a part of TBS Education as I loved the ‘TBS Education Experience’. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to study at TBS Education.

Where do you come from?
I am from the tiny island of Mauritius situated in the Indian Ocean.

What studies are you doing?
I have completed my Bachelor’s degree in Tourism & Public Relations at Curtin University and currently undertaking my Postgrad in Business Administration.

Why did you choose the TBS Education Summer School over other schools?
So, it all happened one fine day when I received an email from my University about the TBS Education Summer School. I immediately decided to go ahead with the applications and hoped for the best. Fast forward to a few weeks, I was boarding a plane for France!

How did your integration into TBS Education/Toulouse go? What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to your first day?
For me, it was a great opportunity to experience studying in Europe and that at a reputed institution with high-end education. Three weeks was just perfect, not too short and not too long! However, this was what I had in mind but now when I look back, the three weeks flew by.

How did the Summer School Team help you?
The team in charge of the Summer School consists of the best and most helpful souls ever. Being a very shy girl, I was amazed at how I integrated the programme smoothly. A lot of activities were organized for us given that we came from different backgrounds which made it more fun and interesting.

Were there any social/cultural events that you particularly enjoyed?
The event I enjoyed most was the rugby team-building. It fascinated me in ways I could never think of. It was so much fun learning the game together and this helped me to get familiar with my peers.

What did you appreciate about the Summer School: the people, the town, the School etc.?
Toulouse, being a very peaceful city had to be the perfect getaway to have an international exposure. What makes it very special is its people; always smiling and ready to help.

Can you give us a small anecdote concerning your time at TBS Education?
A fun fact from my short stay in France is that I became a huge supporter of the France Football Team for the World Cup. And this is funny because football never figured in my list of interests and I had never been interested in any other World Cups before!

What advice would you give to a future TBS Education Summer School participant?
My advice for future students is to go for it! You guys will be learning a lot and trust me it will be a life changing experience. From the way the lectures are delivered to the cultures and the amazing food, you will be learning everything. Also, I had the best lecturers ever out there in Toulouse. Make the most of your time there!

Where do you come from?
I am from the United States and I attend the University of Cincinnati.

What studies are you doing?
I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration with a Major in Marketing and Analytics.

Which program did you choose?
I enrolled in the 6-week TBS Education-Ljubljana Joint Summer School program.

Why did you choose the TBS Education Summer School over other schools?
I chose TBS because of the location in France and that the school was one of the only European summer schools where I could take 12 credit hours of business courses.

How did your integration into TBS Education/Toulouse and Ljubljana go? What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to your first day?
My integration into TBS Education and Toulouse was surprisingly easy. I met so many great friends from many different countries and we all explored the French and Slovenian cultures together. It was a completely new world for all of us and we welcomed the challenge!

How did the Summer School Team help you?
The Summer School Team at TBS Education was amazing. They were so friendly and welcoming and they do such a great job making the program feel like a family. I wish the program lasted the entire summer! In Ljubljana the staff was also very nice. It was quite a bit larger and less of a family feel but they were nice and had great programs!

Were there any social/cultural events that you particularly enjoyed?
I loved having the first night in Toulouse where all the students came together. I met so many of my friends at this event and it was great for establishing the sense of community from the beginning.

What did you appreciate about the Summer School: the people, the town, the School etc.?
I have a great appreciation for French culture now. I love the food and the more relaxed way of life as compared to the US. I love Toulouse and the South France. It is such a great area to live and enjoy yourself. I really appreciated Naomi’s attention to detail and passion for the program and her job. She really made the program great! I also loved working with Marie-Caroline. She was so friendly and always fun to chat with! Basically the entire staff was amazing and made the program a ton of fun! Thanks so much to all of you!

Can you give us a small anecdote concerning your time at TBS Education?
I went to Barcelona for a weekend with my friend from India. Neither of us had ever been to Spain and between the two of us we only had two years of High School Spanish. We spent the weekend at the bars and beaches. We had an amazing time and had so many crazy stories. I guess my Spanish language studies paid off because I met a beautiful Spanish girl and introduced her to my friend Sahil. He still owes me one…

What advice would you give to a future TBS Education Summer School participant?
I would tell the future students to take advantage of your time in another culture. Everything is different and you should explore it while you can. I would also tell them to get out of their comfort zone with the people they hang out with in the program. They should hang out with a diverse group of people from the many different countries. It’s a unique experience that you won’t have every day. I hung out with an Indian, two Moroccans, a French girl and a group of Colombians and I had the time of my life.

How did your integration into TBS Education/Toulouse and Barcelona if relevant go? What did you feel at the end of the Summer School compared to your first day?
My integration went smoothly and I felt at home especially in Toulouse! By the end of the trip I felt independent and successful in my ability to study abroad alone. The staff had an incredible impact in helping me along my journey and creating a comfortable and safe environment for six weeks.

How did the Summer School Team help you?
They helped me every step of the way. Prior to my departure for France, the staff in Toulouse was in constant contact with me, always answering several emails with long-lists of questions in a short amount of time. In Barcelona, I sprained my ankle and the staff were accommodating and very helpful through the entire process. I was very fortunate to have such great experiences with the staff.

Were there any social/cultural events that you particularly enjoyed?
I loved every single activity we did! The day trips to Sitges (Spain) and Carcassonne and Bordeaux (France) were absolutely incredible. The Segway tour, boat ride, walking trips and Port Aventura were all so exciting! I even conquered my fear of heights and roller coasters in Spain! Now, that is a memory to last a lifetime.

What did you appreciate about the Summer School?
I loved the beach and the limitless things to do in Spain. I also fell in love with the city of Toulouse. It is such a vibrant and incredible town, with amazing locals and natural beauty built right into the city.

Until you party on the steps of the river in Toulouse, you have not truly experienced life.

There were many events where some tutors accompanied us, and sharing with them as equals, getting to talk and share experiences from where you come from, why are you there, and what your plans are for the future was the best.

Why did you choose the TBS Education Summer School over other schools?

The team was beyond helpful and reachable. I couldn’t thank them enough for their time and positive energy for helping us and gathering us all together. What did you appreciate about the Summer School: the people, the town, the School etc.? ALL OF IT !
